Bulging, Degenerated & Herniated Discs
Do you suffer from degenerative disc disease, herniated or bulging disc, sciatica, or other spinal problems? Has your physician suggested you consider surgery? You may want to consider non-surgical spinal decompression therapy first. Spinal decompression therapy has proven effective in treating degenerative discs, facet syndrome, sciatica, herniated discs and spinal stenosis. If you have already had surgery, spinal decompression therapy can still be considered if you suffer from Failed Back Surgery Syndrome.
We have been using non-surgical spinal decompression for over four years, and have had great success with it. As of September 2009, we have performed over 3,000 decompression procedures. Our experience is that even “hopeless” cases can often be helped.
The treatment protocol is very thorough, and you will be impressed with all of the state-of-the-art complementary therapy used. It’s easy to forget other treatments that you’ve been through or thought about, once you’ve seen this powerful technology up close.
During the procedure, you are on your back on the decompression table. You are fitted with upper and lower padded special harnesses. The upper harness is attached to the top of the table, and the lower harness is attached to the body of the machine where the special hardware and computer are located. The machine gently pulls the lower harness down away from your upper body. This action is what causes the therapeutic decompression to occur. The computer monitors the entire procedure.
The angle of decompression can be adjusted to target different lumbar disc levels in your lower spine. There is usually little, if any, pain associated with the procedure. Many people fall asleep.
Treatment on the machine is approximately 30 minutes, followed by adjustable levels of mild electric muscle therapy and ice packs for another 15 minutes. Cold laser therapy is applied for ten minutes. Treatment is completed with a relaxing warm-water hydromassage on our special AquaMed Dry Hydrotherapy Table (you lie on your back and don’t get wet). A special decompression support belt is provided for your use throughout the day.
It typically doesn’t take long to start to feel the relief provided by the procedure.
As the body ages, spinal discs do not get oxygen and fresh blood consistently. Decompression and motion can enhance healing by restoring the needed nutrients back into the discs. During therapy, your spine will go through phases of distraction and relaxation. The spinal disc is isolated, and is placed under decompressive pressure. The theory behind this is to create enough pressure to reduce the pressure within the disc. For many patients this can mean pain relief by taking pressure off of a painful nerve. This also can draw in a fresh blood supply which can promote healing.

Every person who is interested in spinal decompression therapy will be evaluated to see if he or she would make a good candidate.
